Preliminary results of Transdniestria presidential polls

The Central Election Commission of the unrecognized republic of Transdniestria announced today preliminary results of the recent presidential elections, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the current data, 38.5 per cent voted for Yevgeny Shevchuk, 26.5 per cent for Anatoly Kaminsky, and only 24.8 for incumbent president Igor Smirnov. The results mean that Smirnov won't be able to take part in the second round of the elections.
