Yuri Krasnozhan in Anzhi – in what role?
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe former vice president of Anzhi Zajdin Dzhambulatov confirmed that the head coach of the second national team of Russia, Yuri Krasnozhan, will be a sporting director of Anzhi. “I cannot say who informed me about it,” Dzhambulatov said. “In Anzhi they don’t know either where I have learnt about it. Yes, there is no Krasnozhan’s appointment for the position of a sporting director: technical moments are being solved.”
Yuri Krasnozhan has a vacation in Italy at the moment. He doesn’t comment on the situation. Officially this information should be confirmed in the nearest future. Sovtsky Sport reports that recently Krasnozhan has met Suleyman Kerimov. Moreover, according to the newspaper, Krasnozhan will be the head coach of Makhachkala’s club. Yuri Krasnozhan has many times said that he would like to have more active professional life. Coach activity is priority for him. It is interesting that after the match with Anzhi Krasnozhan lost Lokomotive’s head coach position.
Yuri Krasnozhan is one of most prominent coaches in recent years. After success of the poorest football club of Russia, Spartak from Nalchik, headed by Krasnozhan, football experts had different views on his future career. Some thought he had to try his potential in a major club; others considered that without experience of working with stars Krasnozhan would fail. All in all, Krasnozhan was invited to be the head coach of Lokomotive. The Moscow club headed by a new coach showed bright attacking playing. It seemed all questions on capacity of Yuri Krasnozhan were answered. But them a big scandal burst, and Krasnozhan was dismissed.
The story was dim. The administration of the Premier League and the Russian Football Council, who announced fighting policy against corruption and foxed matches, didn’t investigate the case of Krasnozhan, who was accused of a fixed match with Anzhi. Moreover, after Yuri Krasnozhan has been dismissed from Lokomotive, he was invited to be the head coach of the second national team. It is a very strange step by the RFC.
Furthermore, the only party, which had a firm position on these events, was the Makhachkala’s club. The administration of Anzhi demanded explanations from Lokomotive: they asked the Moscow club to confirm or deny publicly the information that Anzhi had a deal with Lokomotive’s coach on a fixed match. Olga Smorodskays, Lokomotive’s president, had to state that she has no claims to the Makhachkala’s club.
