Russian opposition leader mourns Havel's death

Founder of the Russian opposition Yabloko party, Grigory Yavlinsky, said today he mourns Vaclav Havel's death, Ekho Moskvy reports on Friday.

The former president of Czechoslovakia and then the Czech Republic Vaclav Havel died this week. For millions of people from both Czechoslovakia and abroad Havel was a sympol of struggle against communism and moral strenght.

Previously former USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev said he laments deeply Havel's death and visited the Czech embassy to Moscow to express his condolence to the ambassador.

Notably neither President Medvedev, nor Prime Minister Putin did so. Howaver they said they mourn the recent death of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il.
