Iran could resolve Pakistan-Afghan freight problems
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Afghan trade-economic delegation headed by Minister for Trade and Industry Anvar-ul-Hak Ahadi has arrived in Chah Bahar to view the economic potential of the local port in the southern province of Sistan and Bealuchestan, Iran News reports.
The minister wants to develop trade between the two states and expand transit through Chah Bahar, which has direct access to the Indian Ocean.
Ahadi said that the port would increase freighting with Iran’s neighbors and give Afghanistan access to neutral waters of the world ocean.
Fereshte Amiri, an Afghan MP from the Farah Province, noted that there were problems with freighting from the Pakistani Port of Karachi to Afghanistan. The Afghan authorities decided to switch to the Chah Bahar Port of Iran.
Amiri emphasized that the port has advanced infrastructure and low expenses for transit.
