Gas deposit found near Cyprus

A gas deposit has been found near Greek Cypriot shore, RIA Novosti cites the Cypriot president as saying. Exploratory work in the Cypriot sector of the Mediterranean See has started despite Turkish protests.

The Republic of Cyprus inhabited by Greeks is recognized but the international community but isn't recognized by Turkey. Northern Cyprus is inhabited by Turks.
