Turkey may host the next P5+1 talks on Iran's nuclear program
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaDuring a joint press conference in Tehran, the Turkish and Iranian foreign ministers expressed interest, saying that Turkey could be the "best place to hold the P5+1 talks", Trend cites Press TV as saying.
Iran and the P5+1 already held two rounds of multi-faceted talks in Geneva in December 2010 and in the Turkish city of Istanbul last January. Tehran says it is ready to continue the talks based on common grounds, adding, however, that it has no intention of backing down on its nuclear rights. The P5+1 group includes the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - China, Russia, Britain, France and the US - plus Germany.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu arrived in Tehran on Wednesday for two days of talks with Iranian officials on recent international developments, including the situation in Syria and Iran's nuclear dispute with the West, dpa reported earlier.
During the press conference, Davutoglu noted that "Turkey does not consider Iran as a possible threat".
Davutoglu noted that Turkey supports peaceful talks regarding Iran's nuclear program and underlined that the country sees no threat from its brotherly country of Iran.
