A former member of the State Duma and one of the leaders of the opposition People's Freedom Party, Vladimir Ryzhkov, says the new rules for political parties proposed by President Medvedev will be approved in February, Ekho Moskvy reports on Thursday.

Ryzhkov says he has a copy of the draft law. According to it, it will become easier to establish a political party and to take part in parliamentary elections.

The document is not ideal, but it will definitely make the political system of Russia more free.

President Dmitry Medvedev suggested that the rules for political parties should be changed after a series of protests held in many Russian cities after the December 4 elections. According to Vladimir Ryzhkov, the draft law has already been approved by the relevant parliamentary committies.

Ryzhkov says he will publish the document soon.
