Russian parliament ratifies deal on border protection with Tajikistan

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev introduced the agreement on border protection with Tajikistan, signed on September 2, 2011, to parliament for ratification, RBC reports.

Russian border guards will continue securing Tajikistan's territory and borders, train Tajik border staff and specialists and cooperate in combating terrorism, religious extremists, preventing illegal migration and fighting transnational crime.
