Nur Otan and Ak Zhol lead in Kazakh parliamentary polls

The Center for Essential Studies “Alternativa” has opinion polls ahead of parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan on January 15. The polls were held in 14 regions and Astana and Alma-Ata on January 2-8. 1,200 people were questioned. The margin of error is 2.82%.

People were questioned about their participation in parliamentary polls, reasons for voting, preferable political party and what their choice would affect.

98.6% of people questioned want to take part in the voting process, 1.4% do not. Most people refusing to attend the polls said they do not trust political parties. 17.6% say that they cannot vote due to health problems.

The social polls have revealed the following preferences:

Fatherland's Ray of Light Nur Otan – 78.2%, party activity – 33.9%

Democratic Party of Kazakhstan Bright Path Ak Zhol – 14.3%

Communist Party of Kazakhstan – 2.5%, party activity 40%

Nationwide Social Democratic Party – 2.3%, electoral campaign – 22.2%

Coalition for a Just Kazakhstan – 0.5%, party activity – 33.3%

Party of Patriots – 0.5%, party activity 33.3%.

Social Democratic Party Auil – 0.3%

Thus, the social polls says that Nur Otan and Ak Zhol lead. According to demographic and geographic criteria, men have a share of vote for the party of 69.6% and 59.9% respectively, according to the national criterion – 80.1% and 64%, ages 30-39 – 56.1% and 29%, urban population – 87.5% and 77.3%.

Women prefer to vote for Agilet - 83.3%, Ayil – 75%, Party of Patriots – 66.6%, Communist Party of Kazakhstan – 63.3%.
