Dmitry Medvedev declares 2012 the year of Russian history

Dmitry Medvedev on Monday announced that 2012 is declared the Year of

Russian History in order to attract public interest in the history of

Russia and its role in the world historical process, RIA Novosti

reports with reference to the Kremlin press service.

The relevant decree of the President forms a committee responsible for

the develop of a plan of activities in the country for this Year of

Russian History and recommends implementig this initiative at

regional levels as well.
