Iran to continue cooperation with Venezuela

Iran and Venezuela will continue cooperating despite US sanctions against Tehran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said after a meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez in Caracas on Monday, Trend reports.

Ahmadinejad said that the two states will continue cooperating for the sake of justice and equality all over the world.

The Iranian president is on a visit to Venezuela, followed by visits to Nicaragua, Cuba and Ecuador. Ahmadinejad and Chavez will attend inauguration of new President in Nicaragua Daniel Ortega today. Ahmadinejad also plans to discuss issues of mutual interest, regional and global development with leaders of South American states.

The schedule of bilateral talks includes discussions of the Middle East, North Africa and the economic recession in Europe and the US. Other topics include construction of dams and electricity. Iran plans to build a dam in Ecuador. It won the tender in the competition with China.
