Nazarbayev’s daughter to run for Kazakh parliament

Dariga Nazarbayev, the eldest daughter of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, head of the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan, is running for parliament as a member of the Nur Otan Party, ITAR-TASS reports.

D. Nazarbayeva says that she wants to contribute to achievements of Kazakhstan in its 20 years of independence. She noted that the role of parliament in the political system of Kazakhstan is underestimated. The parliament is the most democratic structure of political power.

Nazarbayev reminded that she was a deputy and headed the Aymak Group, stressing on social, economic, political and public spheres. The president’s daughter noted the great role Nur Otan played. The parliament made a significant contribution to coping with the global economic recession. Nazarbayeva added that this time they will pay more attention to the social sphere.
