Azerbaijani gymnast gains Olympic license

Shakir Shikhaliyev, an Azerbaijani gymnast, has won a license to the Olympic Games in London. He achieved 80.532 points in combined events at the second qualifying tournament in the capital of the upcoming Olympic Games, making him one of the sportsmen guaranteed to perform at the Olympic Games.

Shikhaliyev is the first gymnast in the history of independent Azerbaijan to get a ticket to the Olympic Games. At the moment, the national team of Azerbaijan has already got 30 Olympic licences.
