The Minister for Energy of Iran said that in the near future Iran will
build 70 reservoirs, which will hold up to 12 billion cubic meters of
water from atmospheric condensation, reports web-site Iran, citing
news agency IRNA.
The Minister pointed out that fresh water shortage is one of the most
serious problems nowadays. This is closely connected with climate
change, the greenhouse effect and a general rise in average
temperatures on the Earth. Moreover, word-wide industrialization just
worsens the fresh water supply situation .
Iran is one of the states which is experiencing a severe lack of fresh
water. The Minister noted that the only possible solution to this
problem is rational consumption of water and its accumulation from all
available sources.
