Support from Russia and China is the key to resolving the Iranian nuclear program and achieving a component of stability in Afghanistan, US President Barack Obama said, ITAR-TASS reports.

Obama described changes occurring throughout his presidency. He noted that Iran had been consolidated when the terms of presidency started. Iran faces consolidated international society and is isolated, Obama explains.

Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Iran and others are interested in putting an end to conflicts in Afghanistan, the US president says.

Barack Obama commented on criticism coming from the members of the Republican Party that consider the current foreign policy of the White House a fail. Obama’s opponent at the upcoming presidential polls of November, Mitt Romney, said that Iran would become a nuclear state if the incumbent president gets re-elected. Obama reminded that his administration had done all it can to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

At the same time, he spoke out against ideological, political, economic and military confrontation with China, one of the main partners of Washington. Obama said that one of the biggest achievements of the last three years was improvement of relations with China. Any disputes were resolved. Rapprochement with China does not mean ties with Japan and South Korea would go downhill, the president said.
