Over 70,000 suffer from power cut in Georgia

Heavy snow in Western Georgia caused a power cut for 73,000 (8%) people, News Georgia cites Avtandil Dvalishvili, a spokesman of the company for electricity distribution Energo-Pro Georgia, as saying.

Power cut was registered in Samegrelo, Guria and Verkhnya Adjara. Bad weather conditions slows power restoration activities.

Energo-Pro Georgia provides electricity for two thirds of the population in Georgia, or 400,000 consumers.

Weather forecasts say that snowing will not stop until January 21.
