Experience of Caucasus administration could be used in the Far East
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussian Emergency Situations Minister Sergey Shoigu suggested creating a state corporation for the Far East region's development, RIA Novosti reports. Earlier, Russian PM Vladimir Putin asked Mr Shoigu to develop a plan for an administrative structure that could supervise the whole region and stand above district administrations.
According to Mr Shoigu, the corporation will include top specialists on the region from the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as prominent residents of the Far East.
The very idea of such a super-district administrative structure is adopted from the experience of the North Caucasus administration. In 2010 the Corporation for North Caucasus Development was created. The company coordinates major investment projects of the NCFD as well as the most important construction and development sites.
