The United States and Japan have not reached an agreement on an Iranian oil ban, Gazeta.ru reports.
The Japanese government still seems reluctant to adopt the sanctions on Iranian oil proposed by the US administration in order to increase pressure on the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program.
The Japanese ambassador to Tehran has recently said that the imposition of sanctions on Iran’s oil industry will negatively affect the economic situation of the world in general and Japan in particular.
“The law ratified in the United States has endangered the situation of Japanese companies, and in the Japanese government’s view, it is very difficult to implement these sanctions,” Ambassador Kinichi Komano told the Mehr News Agency in an interview published on Thursday.
