Azerbaijan attends Euronest Parliamentary Assembly

Brussels is hosting sessions of the Euronest parliamentary Assembly on January 22-31. Azerbaijan will attend the sessions, represented by MP Elkhan Suleimanov, 1news.az reports.

The delegation consists of Ali Huseinli, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Legal Policy and State Construction, and deputies Rovshan Rzayev, Asim Mollazade, Faoud Muradov, Rasim Musabekov, Sevindzh Huseinova and Azer Kerimli.

The process will start with a session of the Committee for Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence of the European Union. A report will be made on the trade agreement of the EU with members of the Eastern Partnership, free trade zone and EU support. The sides will discuss economic coordination, exchange views on cooperation in transport and civil aviation.

The Committee for Political Affairs, Human Rights and Democracy of the Euronest PA will also hear a report on democracy of members of the Eastern Partnership and the European Union, challenges of free and independent press. Ali Huseinli is expected to make a speech on the topic.

The Committee for Energy Security will hold discussions of energy security of members of the European Union and the Eastern Partnership. R. Musabekov will make a speech on the issue.
