RAU-TV starts digital broadcasting in Georgia

Magticom, a Georgian TV broadcasting company, announced its launch of the first Georgian digital channel RAU-TV, serviced by Magtisat, Georgia Online reports.

The channel will operate basing on the DTH (direct-to-home) platform which allows use of SD and HD formats with a 60-cm diameter of satellite dishes.

Magtisat has no Georgian channels broadcasted. Magticom said that negotiations with them have not been concluded yet.

GMG was the first company to service RAU-TV in 2011. It has 6 channels broadcasted via cable networks. Many local providers stopped using NTV Plus (Russia) with launch of the GMG.
