Syrian forces push rebels out of Damascus

Syrian forces are retaking control of the outskirts of Damascus, ITAR-TASS reports.

Violent clashes happened in Ein-Tarme and Jisrein.

Major Maher an-Nueimi, spokesman of the Syrian Military Council, said that tanks entered the area, but some rebels were still hiding.

The major noted disagreements among the military at the Oasis of Gut. Hundreds of soldiers are joining the rebels in Harasta, Douma, Sakbe, Khumiria and Khoteit-et-Turkman around Damascus. The major added that the ruling regime is still strong and uses its reserves to suppress the protesters.

66 people, including 26 civilians, have died in Syria last day. SANA has reported about terrorist attacks on the military and civilians.
