Russian Chairman of Parliament Sergey Naryshkin agreed with former Finances Minister Alexey Kudrin that an Orange Revolution, as happened in Ukraine, has no chance of taking place in Russia, RIA Novosti reports.

Kudrin said at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 27 that he would not want and does not believe in realization of the Orange Revolution in Russia. Polls will be clearer after president’s initiatives, Naryshkin says.

The attitude of modern Russian differs from the ones in the Soviet Union in 1991, he adds.

The speaker believes that the population became both more free and responsible. Most citizens criticize any attempts to weaken the state. History itself shows that any foreign aggression consolidates the society. It happened that way in the Patriotic War of 1812 and suppression of foreign intervention in Moscow 400 years ago. The strive to protect the country is part of national conscience, Naryshkin says.
