NATO experts to visit Baku

NATO experts plan to visit Baku on February 14, Trend reports.

The framework of the visit includes an inspection of the reformation of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces with NATO aid, including training.

Azerbaijan and NATO started cooperation after signing the Partnership for Peace Program on May 4, 1994. Azerbaijan was one of 27 OSCE members and one of the first to sign the program.

An official document was signed within the framework of the agreement in April 1996. Azerbaijan is currently fulfilling some 50 partner goals.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev approved the plan of Azerbaijani-NATO individual partnership on August 3, 2005. The sides are currently at the second stage of the individual partnership plan.
