Turkish population exceeds 75 million

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has published demographic data, MIGnews reports.

The population exceeded 75 million in 2011. 50.2% of the population was male, 49.8% female. Over 57 million Turks lived in cities, capitals of provinces or regional centers.

Istanbul was the most populated city in Turkey. It had a population of over 13.5 million. 50 million Turks are aged from 15 to 64.
