South Russian town honors beauties taken away to Turkish harems

A sculpture - "White Beauty" - has been unveiled in the central square
of Gelendjik in south Russia. The authorities expect that the
sculpture will become a symbol of the town, reports Yuga.ru.
The designers of the sculpture were aspired by a legend about beauties
taken away from the ancient Greek colony to Turkish harems.
The sculpture is made from bronze and covered with special white glaze.
