Turkish Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis said that the preliminary investigation organized against him is a way for Swiss structures to learn history. Turkish officials may visit Davos and repeat the words if necessary, he added, TRT reports.

Bagis made the statement at the Airport named after Ataturk in Isnatbul, on his way to Brussels.

Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that the Turkish Foreign Ministry had protested against a Swiss prosecutor’s office opening a case against Bagis. Swiss Ambassador to Turkey Raimund Kuntz was summoned to the Turkish ministry. Tensions were caused by Bagis’ denial of the Armenian Genocide in Zurich after the Davos Economic Forum. The statement was made several days after the French Senate’s passing the bill on the genocide. Switzerland has a similar law.
