CIS monitoring mission expects free and democratic elections in Turkmenistan

The CIS monitoring mission expects presidential polls in Turkmenistan to be free and democratic. The mission praised measures taken by state structures, executives and CEC to hold fair elections, ITAR-TASS reports.

Preparations for the polls were well-organized, the procedure of introduction and registration of candidates follows the law, CIS officials say.

Turkmenistan will hold presidential polls on Sunday. Eight candidates are running for president, including Incumbent President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
