Austrians note high development rate in Chechnya

Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov has discussed socio-political and economic development of Chechnya and refugees living in Austria, his press service reports.

A delegation of the European Parliament, the parliament of Vienne, officials of the Austrian Freedom Party arrived. They met Magomed Daudov, Acting Prime Minister of Chechnya, Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov, Deputy Chairman of Parliament, Adam Delimkhanov, Russian MP, Bay-Ali Tevsiyev, Kadyrov’s advisor and Grozny cadi.

Johanes Hubner, a member of the European Parliament and Assembly of the Council of Europe, member of Austrian parliament and Freedom Party, expressed surprise with high development rate in Chechnya, opening of workplaces and positive investment climate. He noted that there were no signs of nationalistic, religious or ethnic intolerance.

Austrian officials proposed formation of a Chechen Cultural Center for refugees in Austria, NGOs to support them. About 40,000 Chechen refugees live in Austria.

Kadyrov expressed interest in working with European officials to solve the refugee problem. He welcomed all Chechens willing to return back to the republic.
