Federation Council visits Chechnya

A delegation of Russia’s Federation Council, headed by Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, arrived in Grozny today within the framework of the program of visits to regions of the North Caucasian Federal District, Yuga.ru reports.

The delegation was welcomed by Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov, Acting Chairman of Parliament Magomed Daudov, Chairman of the Chechen Parliament Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov and other officials.

The delegation will visit the 46th brigade of the Internal Forces of the Russian Interior Ministry in Chechnya. Matviyenko will meet servicemen and staff of the brigade.

Matviyenko will meet Kadyrov, government officials, MPs and public organizations. She will also visit a site in Grozny and attend an official concert in the evening.
