Azerbaijan forms new conscription service

Military enlistment offices of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry will be closed down and replaced with the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, News Azerbaijan reports.

President Ilham Aliyev signed the bill on military service on February 13, 2012. The new structure will be established in two months. It will be supervised by Arzu Ragimov, former head of the State Migration Service and deputy head of the State Border Guards.

Firudun Nabiyev, former deputy head of the State Migration Service, is now its chief.
