Grozny hosts Jakharan Illi Music Festival

The State Theater Concert Hall of Grozny has held a music festival called Jakharan Illi (Song of the Year), Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov’s website says.

Kadyrov said that the program consisted of songs selected by people’s votes this year.

Ramzan Ahmadov, Deputy Culture Minister of Chechnya, noted that the most popular songs broadcast on local TV and radio in 2011 were chosen for performance.

Makka Mejiyev, Amina Ahmadova, Alvi Altamirov, Khava Ahmadova, Aset Abubakarov, Tamila Sagaipova and others received Silver Stars at the festival.
