Azerbaijani lawmakers appeal to Turkish parliament for recognition of Khojaly genocide

A working group of the Azerbaijani parliament on Turkey has appealed to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in connection with recognition of the Khojaly genocide, a member of the working group, Ganira Pashayeva, told reporters on Tuesday.

The appeal has already been sent to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, she said.

Azerbaijan claims that Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on February 26, 1992. More than 600 people were killed, according to Azerbaijan's sources.
