Tehran reactor to continue work using Iranian fuel

Iran has started loading its own nuclear rods for the research reactor in Tehran, MIGnews reports.

The reactor is currently using fuel provided by Argentina in the 1990s. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad observed the process of loading the rods personally, Ali Bakeri, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for National Security of Iran, said.

The official reminded that they will also send a response to Catherine Ashton, EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, responsible for talks on the Iranian nuclear program. The International Atomic Energy Agency has not commented on the issue.
