Bad weather causes traffic problems in Azerbaijan

Bad weather conditions in Azerbaijan are causing traffic problems, Trend cites Kyamran Aliyev, head of a section of the Main Road Police Administration, as saying.

No problems occurred on the Baku-Guba, Ismailly-Muganly roads and Agsyinsky Gorge.

Vagif Asadov, head of the Main Road Police Administration of Baku, said that most roads have ice.

1200 buses started work in Baku today, compared with over 2000 normally. Namig Hasanov, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry, said that more buses will start work later on.

Snowing in Baku and Absheron started yesterday and will continue today.

A passenger bus turned over on the 17th km of the Baku-Gazakh road in the Garadag District. Five people were injured.

A chain of accidents happened on the Baku-Sumgayit Highway. About 10 vehicles were involved. The accident was caused by ice, five vehicles received major damage.
