SOCAR starts new oil drills

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) has started new drills at the Neft Dashlary Field (Neftyaniye Kamni) at the stationary platform N1887, 1news reports.

The borehole is expected to be 2870 meters long. Geologists believe that daily extraction would reach 30 tons of oil daily.

Neft Dashlary has been under development since 1949. Neft Dashlary and the Gyrzevaya Sopka have produced 173 million tons of oil. According to the latest estimations, the fields hold about 30 million tons of oil, about as much as an average new field.
