About 3,500 candidates to run for parliament in Iran

3,444 people are running for parliament in Iran, Abbasali Kedkhudai, spokesman of the Control Council, said at a press conference on Tuesday, Trend reports.
Authority of 70% of registered candidates has been approved.
Kedkhudai urged the candidates to avoid illegal propaganda and reminded about punishments.
Earlier reports said that 33 candidates were not approved for elections.
5,395 candidates introduced themselves for the parliamentary polls. Registration started on December 24, the polls will be held on March 2. Registration lasted a week. The Control Council approves candidates for the elections.
