Batumi to build park to honour victims of WWII

A park will be opened on the Street of Sergi meskhi in Batumi (Adjara Autonomy) to honour victims of WWII, News Georgia cites Suliko Shventidze, head of the legal section of the Batumi City Council.

The Mayor’s Office will announce a tender for the best design of the park and the WWII memorial. It is currently composing documents. The monument will replace the old obelisk made by Gogebashvili and Chavchavadze at the Batumi center.

The obelisk will be replaced by a cable way to connect Batumi and Mount Anori. A two-kilometer cable way will be built.
