Chechnya concludes installation of webcams at polling stations

Chechnya has concluded the installation of webcams at polling stations, Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Chechnya Ismail Baykhanov said, RIA Novosti reports.

Most work was done a partner of Rostelecom, Vaynakh Telecom.

Specialists have set fiber optic communication with 405 out of 454 polling stations. 27 will be equipped with webcams but no communications. They will only record procedures.

Webcams will be set in 19 military bases, 2 hospitals and a jail.

Installation of webcams was initiated by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, a candidate for president, to prevent falsifications at the polls on March 4.
