Syrian opposition splits

Over 20 opposition activists have left the Syrian National Council and formed the Group of Syrian Patriots, Interfax reports.

Heysam Al-Maleh, a lawyer, former judge and opposition member since the 1970s, has become the leader of the new opposition group. Over 20 secular and Islamic opposition activists joined his new movement.
