Azerbaijani Central Bank to develop strategy for voluntary bank consolidation

The Azerbaijani Central Bank plans to stimulate bank consolidation and is developing a strategy for the purpose, ABC reports.

The Central Bank wants consolidation to be voluntary. Realization of the process would improve stability of financial institutions. Formation of UniBank from merging of MBank and Promtechbank is the only successful consolidation so far.
