Ankara and Baku comment on disapproved bill on criminalization of denial of Armenian Genocide

Turkey praised the French Constitutional Council for disapproving the bill on criminalization of denial of the Armenian Genocide, RIA Novosti reports.

Spokesman of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev said that the bill itself was an attempt of a certain group to pursue own goals. Azerbaijan said on many occasions that the bill violates freedom of speech and democracy.

French President Nicolas Sarcozy ordered the government to compose an alternate bill on criminalization of denial of the Armenian Genocide.
