Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan prepare deal on Trans-Caspian Pipeline construction

Azerbaijan is intensively working on an interstate deal on the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline, Minister for Industry and Energy Natik Aliyev said, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.

European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger is assisting in the project, Aliyev said at the Caspian Business Integration Club in Baku.

Turkmenistan has activated too.

The Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline will run along the Caspian Sea from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan. It will be integrated in Nabucco, running to Europe through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Russia and Iran are opposed to the pipeline construction due to ecological reasons.
