The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) does not plan to host the 2018 Third Youth Olympic games in Kaspiysk (Dagestan), Vedomosti reports.

The ROC and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev planned to organize the games in Kaspiysk. But no letter has been filed to the International Olympic Committee.

The council of Vice Premier Dmitry Kozak stated that a bid for hosting the games would have prospects. Kozak ordered formation of project to build Olympic facilities and infrastructure on February 18, cooperating with the Northern Caucasus Resorts and Nafta-Moskva.

Taking the complicated domestic situation in Dagestan and lack of necessary infrastructure, the idea to host the Youth Olympic Games was abandoned.  The country has no administrative and financial resources to host three international sports events simultaneously.
