Guba protests 'not revolution'
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaProtests of citizens against social problems are a constitutional right, Vice Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Bakhar Muradova said, commenting on events of March 1, 1news.az reports.
The official reminded about some 15 protests in Paris the same day and had nothing to do with revolution. Muradova said that she cannot say whether foreign forces provoked the process, but noted some suspicious moments of November.
The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported about unsanctioned protests at Guba on March 1. About a thousand citizens gather at the executive office at 10 am. The protests were provoked by the local executive head who made an offensive statement on November 22, 2011. There were provokers causing disorders.
The prosecutor’s office of the Gubinsky District initiated a criminal case.
