A Fair Russia to unite with left
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaA Fair Russia has started discussions about joining the left, Izvestia reports.
The party may form a social democratic structure. Another issue is implementation of the rotation system of leaders and a new scheme for decision-making. The talks were provoked by party leader Sergey Mironov’s results at the presidential polls. A party cannot have a leader supported by only 3% of the population, a party member said.
MPs Dmitry Gudkov and Ilia Ponomaryov commented on the problem. Ponomaryov said that the party may become leftist, but should not be reorganized on the basis of A Fair Russia or the Communists. It should be formed with support of the Left Front and the Russian United Labour Front, and the communists may join in.
