Opposition rally in Moscow is going on without violations
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe opposition rally on Novy Arbat Street in central Moscow is being held so far with no violations, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Vladimir Lukin, who is monitoring the action, reports. "I do not see any violations. Those who want to make statements, do it. Those who want to listen, listen. The police aren't attacking anybody. This is what I call the normal course of the rally," Lukin explains. The Ombudsman hopes there will be no additional actions after the rally on New Arbat, RIA Novosti reports. Rally on Pushkin Square on March 5 ended with arrests of opposition members who decided to stay on the square after the event.
Currently there are speeches being made from the stage. People who have come to the rally are waving flags of various social and political movements. Some of them are holding placards with anti-government slogans. The pedestrian part of New Arbat is cordoned off by police, but vehicular traffic on the street is not
blocked.
Meanwhile, the coordinator of the "Left Front", Sergei Udaltsov, in his speech at a rally on New Arbat Street on Saturday, claims he does not intend to leave the venue immediately after its end.
