Retired US General Wesley Clark warns against attack on Syria, RIA Novosti reports.

The general noted Islamic disposition in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya after the Arab Spring. He reminded that the US leave Iraq after 8.5 years of war that cost a trillion of dollars and lives of 5,000 servicemen.

Clark said that the US has strategic interests in Libya, unlike in Syria. Syria has a population of 22 million people, including 2 million Christians. Weapons are still shipped to Syria, refugees keep leaving. Saudi Arabia and Qatar want President Bashar Al-Assad to leave.

The conflict in Syria has been ongoing since March 2011. About 5,500 people have died. Russia and China vetoed the resolution of the UN Security Council and prevented the Libyan scenario, where air raids allowed the regime of Muammar Gaddafi to collapse after over 40 years of power.
