The Ukrainian Culture Ministry has banned the new Russian film “August 8” of director Janik Fayziyev, cancelling the distribution license, Gazeta.ru reports.

The nationalistic movement Svoboda and the Georgian community requested the film to be banned.

“August 8” depicts the military conflict of South Ossetia, called the Five-Day War. The film centers on a young woman trying to get to South Ossetia where her 7-year old son arrived right before the conflict started.
