Lavrov: Russia will agree on Syrian resolution only on the basis of five principles
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussia ready is to negotiate the resolution on Syria with the UN Security Council, but only on the basis of five principles agreed with the Arab League, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting of the UN Security Council, RIA Novosti reports.
On March 10 the Russian Foreign Minister and Arab League agreed on principles for a settlement in Syria. These principles requireto stop any violence, establishment of a monitoring mechanism, delivery of humanitarian assistance to all Syrians, support for the mission the Special Representative of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in Syria and the inadmissibility of interference in the affairs of Syria from the outside.
Earlier on Monday, Syria's ambassador to Russia said that the official Damascus supports the five principles.
