Pvt. Andrey Popov sentenced to 2 years for desertion

The Military Garrison of the Saratov District has sentenced Private Andrey Popov to 2 years at a penal colony settlement for deserting, Interfax reports.

The court took into account the private’s admission of guilt and his health when passing the sentence, Judge Igor Surovtsev said.

The prosecutor of the process demanded four years of penal colony for Popov.
